Holy moly, do I feel like I hit gold. I recently was on Instagram a couple weeks ago, and I was served an ad from “TalkSpace“. Who knows why, and I don’t really care, because it’s awesome. I have spoken on here about talking to a life coach, and how much I support and encourage talk therapy. I feel like in today’s world we all need someone objective to talk to. It is soooooo nice to just have a listening ear and some help to navigate this crazy world we all live in. Yes, we have friends and family, and we, as individuals can become more attune to ourselves and become more self aware. But, there is nothing like talking to an expert who truly can help you navigate your life journey, and ask you the right questions, etc.
So…I decided to download the app and see what it was all about. Honestly, I had had a hard time getting to see my life coach, and I felt like I saw her to infrequently. Often times, the problem that I wanted help with was already gone by the time I spoke with her. And who knows if I handled the problem properly or not. Or made the right decision. After having other things pop up and making it difficult to see her after work, since I work a typical 9-5 day job, it became more overwhelming or like a chore than helpful. Just after decided to take a break from working with her, I was served this ad. Seriously within probably 1 day.
Side note: Yes, sometimes I’m paid to blog, or I’m sent product to blog about, but truthfully I found this app and tried it all on my own. Even when I am paid or sent product, I choose what I talk about on here, and all thoughts and opinions are my own. 🙂
Okay…back to TalkSpace…
It has been an amazing experience. You can pay weekly, monthly, or yearly. I chose the monthly option. And it works like “email”. But, it’s in a secure app. Anyway, once you sign up, you are “interviewed” by an expert who helps pair you with the right therapist. If it turns out to be not the right fit, you can switch at any time. So, after a little back and forth, I was all linked up, and started chatting with my new therapist.
We started with the basics, and then started getting into the daily issues, etc. It was more like a daily journal at first. I would tell her about my day, any problems that arose, or any wins that happened. And we went from there. It’s been about two weeks now, and I seriously love it. I love that I get to interact with her daily and I can get more thoughts out at once, and then she can respond back to all of my thoughts. She asks amazing questions and has really helped me see things from a different perspective. She is also really supportive, but also challenges my thinking. I feel safe speaking with her.
I can’t speak anymore highly of this app. It is also a website. So, you can respond either on your phone or on your computer. If interested check it out here.
