Train like an Athlete, Fuel like a Champion

The Olympics are in full swing, and if you are like me, you are in awe of these athletes bodies. How sculpted and toned they all are, and clearly they put all that muscle to good use. What is most important to achieve this “look” is to give your muscles protein after a hard workout to repair themselves and build more muscle. It helps achieve that lean muscle tone. I usually stick to Vanilla or Chocolate flavor, but when I tried Designer Protein’s Strawberry Whey, I was impressed, and wanted to try to incorporate it into a smoothie to give it a little more sweet punch. Here is a super simple smoothie recipe I’ve been making to feel like a champion myself. 😛
Earn Your Red Stripes Smoothie
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 frozen banana (or whole one if your workout was extra tough)
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup vanilla greek yogurt
handful of ice
Blend and enjoy!
I love creating smoothie recipes that don’t have too many ingredients because who has the money to buy 12 ingredients for a smoothie? Unless it is food that lasts a long time, like chia seeds, or flax seed (these are great add-ons, if you want a little bit more).
